Top-ranked UNC's best player didn't have a field goal in the second half and picked up a technical foul. The point guard had one assist, and the Tar Heels were in danger of becoming another early season upset victim. Wayne Ellington picked up the slack for Tyler Hansbrough and Ty Lawson, scoring 20 points and making key plays late to help the Tar Heels avoid a shocking loss in their opener by edging Davidson, 72-68 on Wednesday night.
