Tar Heels enter transitional phase after Independence Bowl loss

Larry Fedora will begin plotting his path as UNC's new head coach with an official team meeting Jan. 9 when the players return from the holiday break. Fedora was not in attendance Monday as the Tar Heels (7-6) closed out the 2011 season with a lackluster effort and a 41-24 loss against Missouri in the AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl.
