Tar Heels-Wolfpack rivalry makes less noise on the field than it does off

N.C. State and North Carolina. In the grand scheme of college football rivalries, this yearly matchup lacks a little something. Born out of location, not deep-seeded hatred, the Tar Heels vs. the Wolfpack does not have that intrinsic "wow" factor to it. Heck, the winner of N.C. State-North Carolina won't even receive a trophy. At least the "other" rivalry game in the state, Western Carolina vs. Appalachian State, will reward an Ol' Mountain Jug. (Rocky Mount Telegram)
