Top basketball talent shines in Carolina Challenge
Posted Mar 25, 2012
Kennedy Meeks, West Charlotte’s 6-foot-9, 270-pound junior pivot man, playing in Dave Telep’s Carolina Challenge on Saturday at Ravenscroft School knew the first basket in overtime would provide the difference. Meeks’ catch-and-shoot, high-arching 3-pointer ascended from the top of the key before descending through the bottom of the net to cement an 87-84 win. Meeks, whom Telep called “one of the best players in the state,” exemplifies the Challenge’s prevailing purpose of player development.
