Complicating the early-departure picture this year, there’s a new, crushingly short deadline of April 10 for players to inform the NCAA if they plan to turn professional. That’s the day before the spring National Letter of Intent signing period, a timeframe enacted to provide roster stability but at the expense of student-athletes with pro aspirations. Meanwhile the NBA is operating on a different schedule.
