Highlights from the presser to announce former UNC assistant Jerod Haase as the new UAB coach

Former North Carolina assistant Jerod Haase, introduced Tuesday morning as UAB’s new head coach, warned the people attending his press conference in Birmingham, Ala., that he’d get emotional. During his opening statement, discussing his decision to leave UNC, he had to fight back tears. After all, Haase spent the last 13 seasons, including nine in Chapel Hill, working alongside mentor Roy Williams.
