Suspensions impact Tar Heels on defense, offensive line depth

North Carolina lost a starter in the defensive backfield when coach Butch Davis announced the suspensions of two players Monday. Jermaine Strong, a starting cornerback, and Andre Barbour, a backup offensive tackle, have been suspended indefinitely from the team for violating team and university policies, Davis said. Court records show that Barbour was charged with possession of marijuana in July.
