Former UNC football player Chris Hawkins arrested for role in shooting

A former UNC football player who made national headlines for an improper benefits scandal has been arrested by the Kinston Department of Public Safety for shooting into an occupied dwelling. Christopher Hawkins was arrested by the Kinston Department of Public Safety at approximately 11:46 a.m., today near 710 Doctors Drive. Hawkins is charged with discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling.
