No. 5 Tar Heels Fall To Miami, 5-3

Grayson Atwood hit a game-tying two-run home run in the seventh but Dale Carey answered with a two-run shot of his own to lead sixth-seeded Miami to a 5-3 win over second-seeded North Carolina Thursday afternoon at NewBridge Bank Park. Carolina drops to 1-1 in round-robin pool play but can still advance to the ACC title game with a win over NC State Saturday night. (Tar Heel Blue)
