Tonight’s State-UNC showdown more meaningful for Wolfpack

The second-seeded Tar Heels would have still been in championship contention had the Deacons beaten the Hurricanes. But because they didn’t, UNC was eliminated from the final – even if it beats State – because of tie-breakers in the round robin format. UNC will also play tonight’s game without head coach Mike Fox, who is suspended after being ejected from Thursday night’s loss to Miami. (Wilmington Star News)
