UNC Signee Matt Smoral Drafted On Day One Of MLB Draft

UNC baseball signee Matt Smoral was selected in the supplemental round of the 2012 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft Monday. Smoral was tabbed 50th overall by the Toronto Blue Jays during Monday night's portion of the MLB Draft. Smoral is a power left-hander with a power slider and is ranked as one of the top left-handed pitchers in the country. Ranked the No. 3 player in the country by Perfect Game and No. 6 overall in the 2012 class by Baseball America.
