If the Mets want to call up a starter from the minors, there is no debating what their best option would be. Harvey, the Mets' first-round draft pick in 2010, has a 3.39 ERA in 18 starts at Buffalo and ranks second in the International League with 102 strikeouts. But if the priority is Harvey's development—if it is ensuring he can not only survive but thrive in the majors before he gets there—the Mets believe there is reason to wait, if only a little longer.
