Giovani Bernard heads ACC backs on Doak Walker Award list

UNC’s Giovani Bernard, who last year became the first Tar Heel since 1997 to rush for more than 1,000 yards in a season, highlights a group of four ACC backs to be named to the Doak Walker Award preseason watch list Thursday. He’s joined on the Doak Walker watch list by Clemson’s Andre Ellington, Miami’s Michael James and Georgia Tech’s Orwin Smith.
