The 2012-13 athletic year begins tonight with women's soccer on the road at Portland with a 10 pm EDT kickoff. Men's soccer plays their final exhibition in Cary on Sunday, hosting Coastal Carolina at 3. Michigan State AD Mark Hollis (the brains behind the Carrier Classic) is still at it: Carolina men's basketball will be a part of a 16-team mega event in 2017. (Tar Heel Monthly)
