North Carolina wide receivers coach was a two-year letter winner at Wake Forest, where he earned his degree in science and health sports in 1987. He was the strength and flexibility coach at Wake in 1986-87. Although they were not on the same staff, UNC head coach and Wake Forest head coach Jim Grobe both spent time as assistant coaches at Air Force under Fisher DeBerry. (Tar Heel Illustrated)
