Julius Peppers, the Panthers’ three-time Pro Bowl defensive end, has been silent figuratively and literally for most of this season. His performance on the field has been mystifying, especially given his immense talent. Through four games, he has yet to get a sack, after piling up 13 last season and a franchise-record 53½ during his first five seasons. (Winston-Salem Journal)
