While the players struggled to explain another slow start Saturday against East Carolina, they had no doubt why the team has been dominant in the second half — a tough offseason conditioning program that they feel gives them a mental and physical edge. UNC scored the only 17 points after halftime, snapping its two-game losing streak by beating the Pirates 27-6 at Kenan Stadium. (
