UNC to honor Ferg Norton during the Military Appreciation Day activities


Rear Admiral Ferg Norton, a native of Raleigh, N.C., majored in English and graduated from the Navy ROTC program at UNC. A member of the baseball team, he was named all-conference as a junior and a senior and participated in UNC's first trip to the College World Series in 1960. Ferg Norton qualified as a naval aviator in 1962, and served in various aircraft squadrons, ships and shore assignments during a Navy career of thirty-two years. (GoHeels.com)
