Colby Barnette is a 6-foot-0, 185-pound third baseman and outfielder for Monroe (N.C.) Piedmont High School. According to Perfect Game, the senior ranks 497th nationally and 13th in North Carolina among class of 2013 prospects. During the fall and summer, Barnette plays for the South Charlotte Panthers travel squad. Recruitment: The first time the North Carolina coaching staff saw Barnette was actually by accident.
