UNC tops ECU 93-87 in Pirates' first visit to Chapel Hill

A game that appeared to be a mismatch never quite developed into one on Saturday at the Smith Center. North Carolina led East Carolina throughout, but the Tar Heels never put the game out of reach before prevailing with an 93-87 victory. The Pirates, playing for the first time in Chapel Hill, trailed by 16 points at halftime but cut UNC’s lead to eight with a little less than three minutes to play. (Raleigh News & Observer)
