McAdoo, Tar Heels needed win like the one vs. UNLV

The Tar Heels certainly changed the tenor of their season Saturday with a 79-73 win over No. 20 UNLV at the Smith Center. Whether it carries over into conference play remains to be seen — UNC starts the ACC campaign Sunday at Virginia (8 p.m., ESPNU) — but the Tar Heels finally were able to celebrate a big win.
