The journey of a Rhodes scholar, UNC student Laurence Deschamps-Laporte


Laurence Deschamps-Laporte, 25, has focused on how Islamic social movements form since receiving a Rhodes scholarship to Oxford University in 2010. “I came home that day, and I told my mom, ‘Oh my God, Mom. I didn’t get it,’” Laurence Deschamps-Laporte said, remembering the day in November 2010 that would change the course of her life. (USA Today)
