Emanuel Electrifies in Opener

UNC earned its preseason No. 1 ranking on the strength of its pitchers’ arms. Junior All-America Kent Emanuel confirmed that advantage with a complete game shutout in UNC’s season-opening 1-0 win over Seton Hall on Friday. Emanuel, a preseason All-America that entered the season with the sixth-lowest career ERA in school history, notched five strikeouts and allowed just four singles. (Inside Carolina)
