Statement Substitution


There were audible groans throughout the Smith Center as Roy Williams sent five fresh players to the scorer’s table with 13:25 to play and N.C. State in the midst of a 13-2 run. The old school coaching maneuver, however, worked to perfection. The 10th-year UNC head coach’s message to the bench following the substitution was brief and to the point. “If you want it, you have to play.” (Inside Carolina)
