Pirates ready for rival Heels

A week removed from being a visitor on college football's biggest stage at Virginia Tech, a young East Carolina team will learn the value of playing in its own nest tonight. In front of a sellout crowd at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium, 0-1 ECU opens its home schedule favored to be beat in-state rival North Carolina in a 6 p.m. kickoff. The Pirates will have to continue to take big steps with a lineup littered with new starters. (Greenville Daily Reflector)
