Tar Heels, Gamecocks on radar for Charlotte kickoff game

There are rumblings that local organizers are moving closer to landing a regular Labor Day college football game at Bank of America Stadium in uptown Charlotte. Topping the list: Steve Spurrier’s South Carolina Gamecocks and the UNC Tar Heels. Raycom Sports and others in town have pursued a battle of the Carolinas since the stadium opened in 1996, to no avail. (Charlotte Business Journal)
