Roy Williams offers D'Angelo Russell


, a 2014 consensus 5-star shooting guard from Montverde, Florida, received a scholarship offer from Friday night after Williams watched Russell during a workout earlier in the day.

Russell becomes the fourth shooting guard in UNC's 2014 basketball recruiting class to receive an offer, joining fellow 5-star recruits , , and . Williams is looking to add a second wing commit to the 2014 class, joining recent 5-star small forward commit .

Russell is ranked as the #1 shooting guard prospect in the country by Scout.com and also has offers from Indiana, Louisville, Missouri, NC State, and Ohio State, among others. Russell will play alongside 2014 UNC point guard commit this summer on the same EYBL team.
