North Carolina figures to be ranked in the top 5 right when the season starts and should stay there all winter as they chase the national title. Yet even if the Tar Heels blaze through the regular season with 25 wins, capture regular season and ACC tournament championships and roll into the NCAA tournament as a No. 1 seed — all of that happened last season — paranoid thoughts will immediately flash back to March 25.
