Tar Heel Basketball Great Vince Grimaldi Passes Away


Vincent Grimaldi of Medford Lakes, NJ died Saturday, July 6, 2013. He was 83. After high school, he traveled to North Carolina and became one of the best players in the history of the Tar Heels program. In 1953 he was named "Most Valuable Player" and "Most Inspirational Player" and became the first player in school history to win both awards. Vince was also on the Tar Heel coaching staff in 1957 when Carolina won the National Championship. (Lechner Funeral Home)
