N. Meck’s Ryder Ryan commits to UNC baseball


North Mecklenburg baseball star and top prospect Ryder Ryan has committed to North Carolina. The Tar Heels beat out South Carolina and N.C. State for the No. 14 prospect in the class of 2014 rankings by Maxpreps.com. Ryan expects to play third base and pitch for the Tar Heels, though he also can play catcher. “I just loved how they do things (in Chapel Hill). I just loved the coaches – they teach well – the facilities, the field. I just loved the feeling I got there,” Ryder said. (Charlotte Observer)
