Vince Carter still flying high in eyes of young campers

Mainland sophomore D'Andre Gaines wasn't even 2 years old when Vince Carter etched his name into NBA history in the 2000 slam dunk contest. On Tuesday though, the junior varsity forward was taking lessons from the eight-time NBA All-Star and Mainland alum as part of Vince Carter's Basketball Academy in Daytona Beach. "It's amazing to be in the presence of somebody that's done what he has," Gaines said. (Daytona Beach News-Journal)
