Bottom line: The Tar Heels should have a chance to win the Coastal Division and, if defensive improvement were a guarantee, they might have entered the season as the favorite. The offense should pick up where it left off in a record-setting year last season, but the defense has to avoid the fourth-quarter meltdowns that cost UNC two games last season. (Charlotte Observer)
