Going from the big time to full time
In 1997, Scott Cherry quit his job selling forklifts, knowing that any road pointing back to basketball was one he wanted to travel. The money didn ’t matter to him anymore. The paychecks, which totaled nearly six figures a year, couldn ’t justify the grind, couldn ’t justify all those days he thought to himself, what am I doing? His heart, same as when he raced down the court at Saratoga Catholic as a teenager, belonged to the game. (Glen Falls Post-Star)
