Have Hart: Her Open goal is possible

Marcy Newton Hart hit the first shot in the U.S. Women’s Open. Nearly five hours later, Hart struck her 73rd shot, a bogey tap-in. She preserved her goal of making the midway cut and playing the last hole in femme golf’s grandest event. During her rookie season, when fans recognized her as Marcy Newton of High Point and the North Carolina Tar Heels, she toured the Pine Needles course in 293 strokes and tied for 39th.
