Former UNC standout pitches Drive past Crawdads

While North Carolina was playing in the first game of the College World Series finals, Daniel Bard brought a taste of the Tar Heels to L.P. Frans Stadium. Bard, the Boston Red Sox' first-round draft pick out of North Carolina last year, pitched five shutout innings to get the win Saturday night as the Greenville (S.C.) Drive beat the Hickory Crawdads 7-2. (Hickory Daily Record)
