Tar Heels Bow Out At U.S. Amateur


UNC golfers Barden Berry and Kevin O'Connell lost in the first round of match play at the 108th U.S. Amateur played at Pinehurst's No. 2 course. Berry lost to Connor McHenry, 2&1 while O'Connell lost to Brian Harman, 1 up. Berry, who just completed his senior year, led for most of the first 10 holes before McHenry, a junior at Wichita State, squared the match at hole #11 and went 1 up on hole #15. (Tar Heel Blue)
