Former Tar Heel Reese introduced as the new head man at South Iredell

South Iredell can now lay claim to having the only basketball coach in the county who’s been on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Former North Carolina Tar Heels player Brian Reese was officially introduced as the next Vikings boys basketball coach Tuesday on South’s campus. Reese - who appeared on the March 8, 1993, magazine cover - was an assistant coach at Indian Trail Porter Ridge last season and won an NCAA championship with the Heels in 1993.
