Charlotte Catholic running back has been named the U.S. Army’s national player of the year. Hood received the award at a banquet on Friday in San Antonio, where he was preparing to play in Saturday’s U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Hood, who has committed to North Carolina, rushed for Mecklenburg County-records 3,690 yards and 53 touchdowns this season.
