Mike Cavasinni knocked down, not out

Mike Cavasinni sat dazed in Chapel Hill's UNC Hospitals emergency room one afternoon in early February, his left eye badly bruised and bleeding, several bones in his face shattered by a baseball. A terrifying thought swirled through his mind: "Will I ever be able to see again?" Thirty minutes earlier, Cavasinni stood in the batter's box at Boshamer Stadium. (Charlotte Observer)
