Stephen Colbert opened the “Sport Report” segment of his eponymous show on Wednesday with a discussion on a recent CNN report documenting how a tutor to several athletes at North Carolina, Mary Willingham, discovered that 60% of Tar Heels football and basketball players from 2004-2012 were reading between a fourth- and eight-grade level, while between 8-10% read below a third grade level.
