Dean Smith Supports John Edwards

UNC grad John Edwards' birthday party in Raleigh, N.C., will have all the North Carolina fixings: a pig roast, pie — and the former Tar Heels basketball coach. Dean Smith wrote in a letter to Edwards' presidential-campaign supporters, "I support John Edwards because he has worked on issues that matter — ones that I really care about — like poverty and ending the war in Iraq." Smith has donated the maximum $4,200 to the campaign. (Seattle Times)
