SMU’s Larry Brown puts positive spin on NCAA snub

Poised to make their first NCAA Tournament in 21 years, the selection committee crashed SMU’s party at Moody Coliseum on Sunday. The Mustangs did not make the field. Their consolation prize: A No. 1 seeding in the National Invitation Tournament. They will play California-Irvine on Wednesday at Moody (8 p.m., ESPN2).
