No. 18 Tar Heels Fall To Winthrop, 3-1

Michael Patrick's three-run homer in the top of the second held up and No. 18 North Carolina fell to visiting Winthrop 3-1 Wednesday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium. Carolina loaded the bases with nobody out in the first but managed just one run, and Winthrop pitchers Zach Sightler and Josh Strong kept the Tar Heels at bay the rest of the game. (GoHeels.com)
