Being held hitless didn’t stop Dustin Ackley, the ACC’s second-leading hitter, from having a big hand in North Carolina’s first conference baseball championship in 17 seasons. Ackley, a freshman first baseman from North Forsyth, turned a leadoff walk in the eighth inning into the winning run of the Tar Heels’ 3-2 victory against Wake Forest yesterday at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.
