T.J. Yates carries playoff experience into unknown QB situation


There may be no player on the Texans roster happier to have a new coaching staff and a fresh start than quarterback T. J. Yates, the once and former hero of the franchise’s first trip to the playoffs in 2011. Subbing for Matt Schaub, who was lost for the season with a foot injury, the rookie Yates took over and got the Texans into the division round. But he understood he was only a caretaker.
