The Heels hammered Eryk McConnell and three other State relievers for sixth runs in the eighth inning to take a 9-3 victory in the second game of the series at Doak Field. "Andrew did a great job and got us to the eighth," Avent said. "We decided that was enough for him. We've got one of the best bullpens in the country. They're a good hitting team, [but] we were out there with our best."
