UNC douses Flames, 56-29

A sloppy beginning had UNC trailing FCS opponent Liberty midway through the third quarter in Saturday’s season opener. But it was all wiped away by an extraordinary four-minute span that gave the 23rd-ranked Tar Heels a comfortable 56-29 win in front of an announced crowd of 51,000 at Kenan Stadium. Four Tar Heel touchdowns in 3:49 of game time turned a one-point deficit into a blowout. (Durham Herald-Sun)
