Virginia Tech loses freshman RB McKenzie to knee injury

Virginia Tech, which plays at North Carolina next Saturday, has lost freshman running back Shai McKenzie to a season-ending knee injury. McKenzie, who gained 269 yards and three touchdowns on 53 carries in his first five games with the Hokies and was the ACC’s Rookie of the Week on Aug. 30, suffered a tear of his right ACL in Saturday’s victory against Western Michigan.
