Title game started a beautiful friendship

Broadcaster Gary Bender regards Michael Jordan as a friend, and the connection started with a single shot a quarter of a century ago. Bender called Jordan's game-winning basket for CBS television in the 1982 NCAA title game in the Louisiana Superdome. Now, Bender lives in Wilmington, where Jordan learned his basketball, first earning a scholarship to UNC before winning six NBA championships and five MVP awards. (Wilmington Star News)
