Blessing and curse of Seventh Woods' early rise to fame


Two years ago when Hammond (Columbia, S.C.) point guard ’ highlight video proclaiming him to be the country’s top 14-year-old hooper hit the Internet, it set off what Woods agrees was a gift and a curse. Yes, his exposure went through the roof, but the downside was that, well, his exposure went through the roof. “It’s to a point where, if I don’t do a Sportscenter Top 10 play, people feel like I let them down. It’s not even about that stuff; I’m just trying to get better every time I play. People get a little crazy with it.” (USA Today)
